I live in California but was recently faced with having to sell my father’s house in Staten Island after he passed away. Jason cold-called me after we filed our probate petition, and although I was initially skeptical, he easily won me over after a few minutes on the phone. I met both Jason and Hal in person a few weeks later. I appreciated their thoroughness and honesty in helping temper my expectations, and I felt immediately comfortable moving forward with them, which was the best decision I could have made.
Jason is extremely kind, communicative, and helpful. He seems to have “a guy” for everything and helped me with junk removal, cleaning, repairs, etc. I honestly don’t know how I would have taken care of these things from across the country without Jason’s help. Jason has a great attitude and kept me positive throughout the process, ultimately helping me sell the house quickly for a great price given the condition and the market.
Dealing with the probate process is extremely difficult and frustrating, and Jason was the one bright spot for me during this process. If you are thinking about hiring him to sell your home, especially if you need to do so from out of state, do not hesitate!

Sold a Townhouse in 2022 on Staten Island, NY
At the end of 2021, I began the process of selling the Townhome of a deceased relative by calling around Staten Island-based brokers using Internet reviews as well as a broker referral service. After many interviews, and a few live meetings, I signed the contract to work with Jason and Hal based solely on my gut feeling that they, compared to others, would live up to the promises outlined in their company brochure.
The court involved process of probate was protracted and stressful for me but Jason provided great local resources and advice on how to clear out the premises and prepare the property for sale. The market pricing advice was spot on and realistic to what buyers would offer given needed cosmetic upgrades – paint, flooring, appliances, etc. The home sold and the closing sorted within three months of the initial listing.
My only advice would be to personally meet and interview your Real Estate Attorney before engaging him or her. The 5-hour long closing was harrowing with the lack of advance communication between the buyer/bank attorneys. I could only write this review after I received the official Deed transfer, and satisfaction of mortgage from the City Of New York and the mortgage company a month after the closing. Happy to close on this chapter, and so glad I had Jason and Hal supporting me throughout.

Jason was a pleasure to work with. He was completely responsive and available and worked hard throughout the entire process. I interviewed many realtors. All of them except for Jason insisted I put in a significant amount of work and money into a house I wanted to unload “as is”. He was the only broker who listened to me and was willing to work with me on what I wanted to do with my parent’s house. Jason was there every step of the way to guide me through the entire process from start to finish. He made it such an easy transaction. I would recommend him to anyone looking to sell their house. I am someone who has high standards and is tough to impress. Jason impressed me so much, I offered to write a review for him and I never do that!

Hal and Jason Blake recently assisted our family with the sale of our mother’s house. We hired them shortly after her passing during an emotionally draining and stressful time for us. Made more so because the house carried a reverse mortgage debt, which required a timely settlement. These two gentlemen were a godsend as they were understanding of our situation and made us feel confident that we would see our way through to a resolution. They brought with them a professional thoroughness and an energetic work ethic while remaining patient, warm and supportive in what we felt to be a genuine and honest effort to help us. What we needed most however was results and to that end they listened to us carefully, explained the process to us thoroughly, answered questions patiently, and always followed through with any promises made. We were impressed by their knowledge of the market place and the services they offered or could bring to the table for us. We welcomed the personal touch which they brought to their work every day with us. Our mom would have approved. Our trust in them was well placed as their advice and efforts brought many buyers to see the house and several offers to be made, we were in contract quickly and the closing went smoothly. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE BEST REALTORS ON SI, LOOK NO FURTHER!!! I acquired a Coop at Bay St Landing when my mom passed away. First I tried to sell it myself, but quickly realized that it’s not the best way to get a property sold, since I live about 1 1/2 hours away in NJ. I interviewed 7 Staten Island realtors and was shocked. I got everything from people that are part time agents (really), to many that didn’t seem to have knowledge of the market, to one that clearly did not have my families best interest at heart…was just looking for a listing. Then I met with, Hal and Jason Blake, and I can tell you they were a breath of fresh air. They were honest. They listened to what my needs where. They were not pushy, as a matter of fact I had to ask for the contract at the end of our meeting, even though Hal suggested meeting with my family before making a decision to have them represent the property.
